Amy Feil Phillips

Picture
From still life to landscapes to figures, Amy paints in a modern impressionist style utilizing both acrylics and oils. Her simplified, yet realistic renderings emphasize the transformative effects of light, color and contrast in painting. From Martha’s Vineyard, Amy studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, in Lacoste and Paris, earning a BA in Studio Art with Honors at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. After a long career as a creative director with an MBA in marketing, she is now completely focused on painting. Amy often finds ways of using nature as metaphors for social situations. A landscape of wildflowers may be likened to a community of people. An isolated flower alone in a field symbolizes human isolation. Awards and Juried Shows include: Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Emerging Artist, 2021: APUSA Acrylic/Mixed Media National Exhibit; 2020 Tampa Regional Artists: Escape Into Abstraction, honorable mention; 2020 Warehouse Arts District Members Show; 2020 Tampa Regional Artists: Art In The Garden; 2019 Tampa Regional Artists: Faces and Figures; 2018 International Society of Acrylic Painters, Best of Show, 2017.Amy is a member of the American Impressionist Society, The Art League of Highlands-Cashiers and Tampa Regional Artists.
