One of my earliest memories is at four years old playing with geometric shapes that my mother had cut from the cardboard of a candy box. I was fascinated in how I could arrange the pieces to form an image like a house or a dog. That was the beginning of my passion to create! Not only have I been blessed with a talent to “see” and capture the beauty around me in paint, I have been able to pass my experience and love of art onto my many students throughout 40 years of teaching.
Although I enjoy working in almost any medium, I have concentrated in watercolor painting for over 35 years. For me, the unexpected and “happy accidents” of watercolor provides an incentive to find a new way of problem solving. My work is always evolving as I push for new ways of “seeing” and growing in my art. The creative process itself, for me, is the most rewarding part of each new work and I hope that my paintings give the recipient insight into the moment in time when I created it.
