NOVEMBER 11 at 12 NOON, following parade
The Macon County Art Association presents the MCAA Veteran's Portrait Event on Veterans Day (12
Noon) at the Uptown Gallery. This will be our tenth year for this event. Volunteer artists have until June 30
to submit an application to paint a portrait of a local veteran. The artist will present the portrait on Veterans Day to
the veteran or their family. After the presentation, refreshments are provided for the attendees.

Please mark your calendars for November 11 – portrait presentation day – all artists who have completed a portrait must be there. It means a lot to the Veterans that you are present. Please do not paint a portrait if you will not be attending the event on November 11.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Return of Photos: All portraits along with the Veterans bio/photos/etc. need to be delivered to Kris Sterrie at Creative Framing no later than October 22, so she can get the portraits framed for the November 1st show. She will attach the photo/bio information to the back of the portrait to be easily returned to the families at presentation. DO NOT RETURN THE PHOTO/BIO INFO TO THE GALLERY UNLESS IT IS AN EARLY RETURN.
The presentation at Uptown Gallery is after the Veteran’s Day Parade (noon). All artists need to attend the presentation so they can personally present their portrait to the Veteran or their family. This will be done as a special program, so please wait until the ceremony and let us preside over the process so everyone can enjoy the experience together.
We can offer a free portrait workshop where you can get help in working on your portrait. Please talk to Carol Conti to arrange.
